Dear Colleagues,

ICOMOS Georgia and its partners – ICOMOS Armenia, Ltd. Architectura I Prestizh (Ukraine) and Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage – are pleased to announce that, although it took us quite long, but, finally, issue 4 of the regional e-magazine Heritage Conservation. Regional Network Journal, established within the EU funded project Regional Co-operation for Cultural Heritage Development, is now available online.

Issue 4 of our e-magazine is prevailed by the articles focused on the urban and architectural heritage conservation issues, showing that there are common acute problems requiring further discussion and analysis. Problems of the Kiev heritage preservation in the wider context of the cultural heritage protection in the ex-Soviet and Eastern European countries are touched upon by Dr. Olena Oliynyk (Ukraine), while a pilot project proposal for the development of Avlevi lane is presented by a group of authors – Dr. D. Tumanishvili, G. Kighuradze, N. Chitishvili, T. Khosroshvili, N. Natsvlishvili (Georgia). Problems of renovation of “Yerevan” hotel are analysed by Dr. Nune Chilingaryan (Armenia) and reconstruction of the historical Garni bridge with problems linked with it are discussed by Yeva Sargsyan (Armenia). Continuing the topic presented by our Moldavian colleague in the previous issue, museification of the Bender Fortress as a tool for its protection is discussed by a group of authors – Dr. Eugen Sava, Dr. Ion Tentiuc, Dr. Ana Boldureanu (Moldova).
