6th Capacity building workshop
6th International Capacity Building Workshop is planned to take place in Tbilisi on September 5-6th, 2013 in the framework of the project – Regional Co-operation for Cultural Heritage Development implemented by ICOMOS Georgia and its partners within the Eastern Partnership Culture Programme. The topic of the workshop is “Development through Conservation” and is part of a series of workshops aiming at strengthening capacity of heritage stakeholders within EaP region through exchange of information and transfer of competencies on regional and international levels. Selected cases to be presented by experts from EaP Region countries and Europe will deal with Integrated Conservation and heritage development issues. Cases selected for the Workshop shall illustrate various aspects of the main topic, such as: positive processes and experiences, problems/challenges linked with the wider range of sustainable protection of heritage - lack of the funding available for the field, tools for planning of asset generating programmes, policy issues to promote development through conservation and to overcome long lasting prejudice - Development vs. Conservation. Participants of the workshop include experts from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine and a keynote speaker from Norway – Ms. Aase Bitustoel . It is expected that through presenting theory and practice from different countries and opening fruitful discussions on different issues of heritage preservation through its subtle development, concrete conclusions/suggestions/recommendations can be elaborated. |
